Air conditioning is nice, but it’s not accessible to everyone, which is where electric fans come in. Electric fans are all over the place — from tower fans to portable handheld fans, neck fans and more — but a box fan can stand up to the summer heat for a fraction of the price of a portable air conditioner.

If you’re looking for a reliable fan that won’t let you down when the heat cranks up, turn to Lasko. The brand’s 20-Inch Classic Box Fan features a “weather-resistant motor” with three speed levels, and it snagged a 4.4 out of 5-star customer rating at Walmart.

Lasko 20-Inch Box Fan
$20.97 $25.13 17% off
I purchased this fan from Walmart during the start of the pandemic and it’s held up over the last four years (and counting). Though I don’t use it as often as I used to, it’s had a spot in my bedroom since 2020, and not just during the summer months. The Lasko Box Fan will carry you through any kind of heated situation, no matter the season. And if you’re a hot sleeper, it’s great for helping you keep cool at night.
The fan isn’t particularly loud, but not as quiet as the product description would have you believe. While it barely makes noise on its lowest setting, it’s certainly louder when cranked up to the highest setting.
Available in white, black, blue and purple, the 20-inch box fan comes equipped with an easy-carry handle and a removable front grill and blades for easy cleaning and overall maintenance. Plus, there’s no setup necessary: Simply pull it out of the box and plug it in.
The fan got a price cut just ahead of Walmart+ Week, a weeklong event where Walmart+ subscribers can enjoy exclusive savings from June 17-23.
Lasko’s box fan is also available at other retailers, such as QVC, Target and Amazon.
